Match to the PO

Line up what you ordered against what the vendor charged, and decide who pays the difference.

Written By Julia M.

Overview

Match to the PO lines up what you ordered against what the vendor charged, line by line.

Watch it: the Finances lesson in Campus, step 7, “Bills and what vendors charge”, chapter 3, “Match to the PO” (starts at 0:45).

Match to the PO: ordered and charged side by side, with the difference

When the price is different

  • Charged more? Bill the client or Absorb it.

  • Charged less? Keep the savings or Credit the client.

  • Every choice needs a reason, from your studio’s list.

  • Your client’s part goes on an open invoice or a change order. The purchase order itself never changes.

Your reasons

Set the reasons in Settings › Studio › Finances › Purchase orders, under Reasons for price differences. A reason for billing or crediting the client shows on their invoice or change order.
