How to download and customize a PDF
Download an estimate, invoice, retainer or purchase order as a PDF, change what it shows for one download, and set your studio’s PDF defaults.
Written By Julia M.
Overview
Every estimate, invoice, retainer and purchase order downloads as a PDF. The PDF starts from what your client sees on their page.
Watch it: the Finances lesson in Campus, step 1, “Find your way around Finances”, chapter 7, “Settings” (starts at 3:01).
Steps
Open the document and click the download arrow, in the editor or in its side panel. The PDF opens full size, with Customize, Print and Download PDF.

To change it for this download, click Customize. Turn images, descriptions, specifications, client approval status, the memo, terms, signature fields, attachments and a thank-you message on or off, and set the File name.
Tick Also save a copy in Documents to keep a copy with the project.
Click Download PDF.

Your studio’s PDF settings
In Settings › Studio › Branding › PDFs: what the header shows, a banner, the footer note, a thank-you message, where terms print, and whether a copy is saved in Documents each time a PDF is downloaded.

File names are in Settings › Studio › Documents › File names, one for each type, built from {number}, {date}, {client_name}, {project_name} and more.
