Settings › Studio › Finances sets what you charge, what your documents say, how you get paid, and how purchases and expenses work.
Watch it: the Settings lesson in Campus, step 11, “Finances” (2:10). Each section below names its chapter.
Pricing and tax
Finances › Pricing
Watch it: step 11, chapter 1, “Pricing and tax” (starts at 0:09).

Set your markup on furniture and finishes, tax on goods and services, and how shipping shows and how budgets track it.
Target margins are what you aim to make. Reports compare against them, and prices never change because of them.
Documents
Finances › Documents
Watch it: step 11, chapter 2, “Documents” (starts at 0:29).

Works one type at a time: estimates, invoices, retainers, purchase orders or change orders. Set the numbering, the memo and terms, and what the client sees on each document, online and on the PDF.
Statuses and tags
Finances › Statuses and tags
Watch it: step 11, chapter 3, “Statuses and tags” (starts at 0:49).

The statuses for estimates, invoices and purchase orders, and your document tags, like Rush or Trade.
Getting paid
Finances › Getting paid
Watch it: step 11, chapter 4, “Getting paid” (starts at 1:02).

Set who pays card and bank fees: the client, or the studio. New projects start with your choice, and each can change it.
Below that are deposits on estimates, the late fee with its grace period, and the default retainer description.
Purchase orders
Finances › Purchase orders
Watch it: step 11, chapter 5, “Purchase orders” (starts at 1:23).

The reasons you give when a vendor charges something different from the PO:
bill the client
absorb it
credit them
keep the savings
Expenses
Finances › Expenses
Watch it: step 11, chapter 6, “Expenses” (starts at 1:37).

The markup on reimbursable expenses, mileage, when to ask for a receipt, the cards and accounts you pay from, and expense categories.
Design-build
Finances › Design-build
Watch it: step 11, chapter 7, “Design-build” (starts at 1:53).

For design-build studios. Turn on cost codes so a budget and its costs line up by trade, plus retainage and lien waivers.
